Corpcom appointed to represent the Association of Accounting Technicians

The South African arm of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) has selected Corporate Communications Consultants as its South African public relations agency commencing October 2011. The objective of the PR strategy is to create greater awareness of the brand locally, highlight the dire skills shortage in entry level financial positions and how these individuals can be up skilled through competence-based learning.

The AAT is one of the world's leading membership organisations for accounting professionals. The South African Institute of Charted Accountants (SAICA)-endorsed AAT is a British headquartered body supporting professional development in the areas of finance and accounting in 90 countries around the world. With over 120,000 members, the AAT has been providing competence-based accounting qualifications in Central Southern Africa for over 20 years.

AAT South Africa, AAT (SA), is a unique partnership between the South African Institute of Charted Accountants (SAICA) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). It is a professional body dedicated to the education, development, regulation and support of accounting technicians in South Africa. The AAT SA body offers three levels of certification namely AT (NQF 3), FET AT (NQF 4) and Certificate ACC (NQF 5) and has tailored its training to overcome the historical academic challenges experienced by South African workers.

It is in addressing the issue of South Africa's dire shortage of competent talent in the maths and accounting fields that the AAT has a wealth of experience in working with individuals with minimal accounting and mathematical training, and transforming them into quality, productive economic participants.
